Sophia's spring school picture

Sophia also had a spring photo taken at school.  Here she is.

Lilly's pony pictures

Every spring Beach Manor has a company called Southern Smiles bring a miniature pony to the school and they take pictures of all the kids.

Lilly's are cute this year.  She looks like a real cowgirl don't you think?

I just happened to find these by going back in the blog to 2011...when Sophia was 4 1/2 and had her pony pictures taken.  Here she is...

Sophia's class photo

As you can see she is the tallest kid in her class.  You'll find her in the top row, dead center.  Click on the photo for a better view.

Lilly's boyfriend, Jonas

For over a year Lilly has claimed that her cousin, Jonas, is her boyfriend! She never wavers.   This week proved it to be very true.  They seem to have quite a special bond.  They're fairly close in age (Lilly about to be 5, Jonas going to turn 3) He adores her and she loves to snuggle with him.  They were adorable together....
Here they are playing in the princess castle.

Sophia was in there for about 5 minutes before she quit and moved on to something more "electronic" - probably.

We also met newborn cousin Caroline

Caroline is just three weeks old and the sweetest baby girl you ever did meet.

She reminds me so much of Sophia.  Even her little baby sounds reminded me of baby Sophia (who is quickly approaching her 7th birthday!).  Wow, she's so loud now.

Lilly, quickly coming up on 5,  sounded like a busy city street in the middle of a hot summer day with all the honking and grunting noises she made and now she's sooooo quiet.

As you can see the girls had a playmate, Haley, whom they met and played with once before at Christina's baby shower in January.  They had fun then and had even more fun this time.  It was just nice enough outside for them to play on the playground all day.

And we finally met Penelope and Juliette

It only took us six months, but the girls and I finally met Penelope and Juliette, the newest additions to the Terek side of our family.  They are just over six months old and as cute as can be.  Lilly really enjoyed "babysitting" them and keeping them entertained. In fact, Sophia was taking her babysitting cues from Lilly's expert advice.  While Lilly loves to take care of little ones and baby dolls, Sophia prefers her stuffed animals...even over real ones.

The first two pictures are Lilly holding Juliette...

Next we have Lilly and Sopia each holding Penelope....

Uncle Dan....

Great Wolf Lodge

We spent Easter weekend at Great Wolf Lodge and kicked off spring break in style.

We got to Great Wolf around dinner time on Friday evening and quickly changed into our suits and hit the water park.  Both girls were a little timid at first.  In fact, Sophia never did get to ride on a slide.  She was too tall to ride the baby slides and she was too scared to even try the big people slides...which lots of kids younger than her were enjoying.  Will and I took turns a few times letting the other ride a slide or two.  Lilly loved the little kid area including the two little slides that were her size.  Once Sophia discovered the hot tub and got over her fear of the hot water she realized it was her favorite part of the whole trip.

She and I got to spend a lot of one-on-one time together which was really nice. Lilly was so exhausted on Saturday afternoon she asked to go back to the room and take a nap.  Will went with her while Sophia and I explored and played lots of games at the arcade.

We teamed up to play Wheel of Fortune and Sophia's spin landed us 150 tickets per correct letter guessed....in the end we won over 800 tickets on that one game.  Before we left we cashed in all of our tickets and Sophia and Lilly both got stuffed animals - like we need any more of those!

We also ran into the Easter Bunny almost by accident and happened to be so lucky to be second in line to say hello to him while we were wandering around.  We also checked out the MagicQuest game they have and decided against it.  THANK GOODNESS!

After we saw the Easter Bunny we stood in a much longer line for Sophia to get her face painted like a wolf.  Can you tell?

Before we went back to see if Lilly was awake we checked out the kids spa and Sophia was literally begging me to take her in to get "all of it" - as she called it. When we got back to our toom I called to make her an appointment and when I found out it was going to cost $79.99 for a kids mani/pedi I decided to not follow through with the reservation!  Holy Smokes! I don't even pay that much.

Our camera happens to be water proof....so I was able to get some fun shots of Sophia underwater.

There was a pool dedicated to playing games and was filled with balls and hoops and obstacle courses.  We played monkey in the middle.  Will and Lilly were a team.

On Saturday night we went to the lobby for a spring break dance party and Sophia was out on the "dance floor" doing all the line dances.  Her favorite, and the one that actually got her on the dance floor, is Cotton Eye Joe.  She's really good at it.  Her gym teacher taught it to all the first graders.

On Sunday morning the girls were up bright and early to see if the Easter Bunny had any success in finding us since we weren't at home.  The girls were so worried they left a note for him at our house telling him we were at Great Wolf Lodge.  Of course, he found them!

After thoroughly dissecting all of their loot we went to the lobby again for the Wolf Walk followed by a 5,000-egg egg hunt.

Overall a great time was had by all!
