Fall Fun

We went to the farmer's market one weekend.
The girls loved jumping in the bounce houses this time.
Usually they aren't interested in them at all.

On second thought, I will never let them put random things
on their heads like this again.
Gross.

Pumpkin picking with Haley and Carlie.

Lilly is on the far right.  She wasn't hesitant to get it on it at all.
She loved it and begged to go again and again.
Finally Sophia worked up the nerve to ride too.
And guess what?  She loved it too.  Go figure.

Cute.

Lilly's 6th birthday morning

Lilly got up pretty early on her birthday. It was her first real day of summer vacation. The day before was the Memorial Day holiday.

Lilly really takes her time when she opens presents and enjoys holding them and thoroughly checking them out.  Quite the opposite from her sister who doesn't even take off all the wrapping paper before she moves on to the next.

Anyway, she got a brief case stuffed with velvet Barbie posters to color. Got her some Justice shorts. She also got a makeup design book. Each page featured a sketch of a woman's face. Makeup was included and Lilly loved applying it and admiring her work.

Lilly...

Lilly came downstairs one morning dressed like this.
Hello 1986.

Popping balloons - waiting for Sophia to get home from school.

Got a new bike for her birthday.  She and I went to the park to ride bikes one evening while Sophia was spending some time by herself at Grancy and Big Daddy's house.

I just remembered that I did the same thing with Sophia when Lilly was visiting G and BD, except we had to leave five minutes (maybe even less) after we got there because she fell off the monkey bars and had a complete meltdown.

Lilly being sassy with her purse.

My precious girl - sound asleep.

Choir Banquet

Sophia had her church choir banquet at the very beginning of June. Lilly quit going to choir in the middle of the school year. She absolutely hated the type of music they sang and also didn't like Mrs. Belinda, the choir director, always telling her where to stand. I imagine this happened when they were rehearing for their Christmas show.

Each year Mrs. Belinda honors good attendance, years participating, etc.. with beads that they accumulate on their cross necklaces. Here's a few pictures.  Neither of the girls are in the church choir this year.

Reading

Lilly read a book to her Kindergarten class at the end of the year. She didn't even tell me that all the kids were taking turns reading books to the each other while sitting in the teacher's chair and sharing the pictures on each page.  One day she announced she was taking this book to school.  It wasn't until the next day that I found out she read it to the class. It was no big deal to her, but I was so proud.  It's still her favorite book to read to me.

The rest of this post is simply pictures of Lilly that her teacher took throughout the year. Mrs. LaSalle had a Shutterfly website that she updated quite frequently with photos and class news.
